Gion is inspired by the geisha district in Kyoto, Japan. The tightly woven ancient streets bustling with energy yet full of contrasts between darkness and shadows. This leather wall piece was hand dyed with inks on natural vegetable tanned leather, precisely cut into shapes and brought back together with marquetry techniques. The colours reminded us of dark wood, shadows and Japanese shoji papers.
